| Job Description:
-Develops the necessary software to enable automatic validation of the xDSL Physical Layer.
-Automate a shared lab over different continents using modern internet technology
-Got good knowledge of object oriented languages (java, visual basic) and scripting languages (TCL/TK, perl)
-Understand the working principles of test equipment (arbitrary waveform generators, network analyzer, line simulators) and Central Office DSL equipment (multiple brands of DSLAM's)
-Interpret the results of the automated tests and as such he has a good view on the different xDSL standards
-Be aware of the magnitude of equipment investment and has high focus equipment occupancy efficiency.
-Travel abroad for solving field issues, giving technical support or attending conferences and plugtests happen a few times a year.
Education and Skills:
-Masters degree in electrical engineering or Software Engineering
-3+ year experience in automation and / or xDSL
-Experience in IP, ATM, OO/C++, control systems, would be an advantage
-Good Java expertise is mandatory.
-Knowledge of Java and Visual Basic, script languages TCL/TK, perl and xDSL PHY layer standards.
